It comes down to a Tale of Two Cities:

One city had a Republican mayor who cleaned up the lawlessness that Democrats had allowed to flourish.

Another city had a Democrat mayor who allowed the lawlessness to explode into everyday chaos.

One city had a Republican mayor that reformed a corrupt city government so that it became effective.

Another city had a Democrat mayor who allowed a corrupt city government to become even more ineffective and corrupt.

One city had a Republican mayor who mobilized city administration and the citizens to deal with the crisis.

Another city had a Democrat mayor who had his administration abandon the people and flee from danger.

One state had a Republican governor who mobilized state resources to deal with the crisis.

Another state had a Democrat governor who did nothing because of incompetence and cowardice.

Our governator is fiscally conservative but not socially. However, if he hopes to be re-elected, he'd better accomplish redistricting and VETO this lastest bullied, suffocating, thuggish move on the part of CA's libs.
What I would give for a govenor of CA to be as grounded and consistant as George Deukmejian was. ah, well...joyce
 

And every gun has been purchaed in Houston. A buddy of mine traded in some of his arsenal for a folding stock AK on Thursday. I sent him to a small store specializing in this type of gun. He sad it was packed. The owner told him he had not seen this level of business since 9/11.

Today we needed to drop my wife's M1 carbine off at the gunsmith for a bit of work. THis particular gunsmith is next door to an indoor range. We had planned to shoot but there was a 2 hour wait as all of the lanes were taken. Lots of women getting instruction. Luckily were failry stocked on ammo and are well versed in the functioning of our weapons.
 

I fired Expert with the M1 and would dearly love to own one, but they've gotten way too pricey ... excellent, excellent weapon.
 

The M1 carbine is a beautiful rifle but as a self defense weapon it is under-powered because today you may be facing a home-invader wearing body armor.
 

I don't think of the rifle as a home defense weapon ... that's for shotguns and .45s. :D
