"[Y]ou can usually make informed judgments about the veracity of someone's argument based on the truthfulness with which they treat the facts and data used to support that argument." - T. Bevan  "JOHN CONYERS: UBIQUITOUS DEMAGOGUE (PART II)"

Bevan stops just short of embracing the broader Schultz Doctrine. "You can always make informed judgments about which side of any argument to land on if one side is untruthful, offers undocumented or manufactured data  in support of their position, and are Democrats."

 But, in the event you don't already think John Conyers is a street hustling liar of the first order, you will after reading Bevan's full deal.  What rings my bell this morning, and caused me to recall Bevan's Friday post,  is what I see as a culture of lying that has become so cynical that it threatens our national security.  Consider two lies aimed at generally uneducated, uninformed hotheads, and their consequences.

1) Conyers. Last December Conyers held hearings to investigate how in hell President Bush won the election (obviously due to voter fraud that was more massive then their voter fraud). Here's how he prefaced his findings.

"The events surrounding the Presidential election in Ohio must be viewed in two important contexts. First, there is the 2000 Election debacle in Florida. In that election, advocates for a full and fair count were asked to “move on” after Vice President Al Gore conceded the election to then- Governor George W. Bush. Months later, it was found that a full and fair count would have resulted in Gore, not Bush, being elected the Forty-third President of the United States.9 Subsequent investigations also uncovered rampant disenfranchisement in Florida, particularly of African-American voters.10."

Not only is that a blatant lie, it served to fuel and validate the worst suspicions of the Moveon.org set he was obviously pandering to. It's one thing to hate a liar and crook who somehow captures The White House, but he should be an actual liar and crook.

2) Newsweek. The MSM operate under the assumption that America, under any Republican president, must be wrong. THE MSM have been utterly outrageous in fomenting the notion, world wide, that Bush is a Nazi, a fascist, and a Torquemada who personally tortures freedom loving Islamic freedom fighters who stand up to his evil deeds. That mindset is why Michael Isakoff was able to get his baseless, predictably incendiary, story published that U.S. troops in Gitmo were pooping on the Koran (pooping on the Bible would have garnered no mention). The story caused riots that left hundreds dead. More murder, hatred, and death, thank you very much Newsweek.

The left is consumed by a culture of hatred, and the consequences are fairly predictable. Truth will win, and they shall be destroyed.
