We're not giving up. We're waiting for a better opportunity to win.

" I don't think I've ever met a Liberal whom I didn't like on a personal basis. That said, if your goal is to change minds and influence people, it's probably not a good idea to begin by asserting that virtually all elected Democrats are liars. But what the hell."

Katrina Losers and Winners
What started as a media campaign to trash President Bush, even while Katrina was still blowing, instead produced  some unexpected  losers, and winners ... .  The three most photoshopped Katrina pictures, a pretty good gauge of what the public thinks is worth spoofing, have to be Looterman, Mayor Ray Nagin's flooded school buses, and a Googled campaign picture of Gov. Blanco, and aide. With absolutely no research, other than my remembrance of stark moments, I present my Katrinas Winners and Losers.
Gov. Kathleen Blanco ... even if she beats the impeachment effort mounted against her, one thing is clear.  Her political career is buried deep in New Orleans mud.
Looterman ... Has this guy been identified?  He is, along with Honore, the biggest celebrity to emerge from Katrina.  At last count there were more than 12 trillion photoshopped lootermans flying through cyber space.  Step forward Looterman, and sign your contract with J. Walter Thompson.
Mayor Ray Nagin - Caught between the inept Blanco, and his own considerable miscues, Nagin ... well, let's just say that I read somewhere that he's building a home in Houston.
Lt. Gen. Russel Honore -  CNN called him "John Wayne," for the way he took charge in an otherwise leaderless Louisiana.  But, what made him a huge media star was telling a reporter "You are stuck on stupid, I am not going to answer that question."  That led to a compendium of "Other Colorful Things to Say to Reporters" I think Bush should make him the next Chief Joint of Staff  (to quote Rita-X).
Louisiana Democrats - With blacks that used to live in New Orleans's Ninth Ward (if  I remember correctly) now living in Texas, democrats will be hard pressed to replace those 3 million votes .  Say goodnight , Sen.Landrieu.
Louisiana  - While it's usually true that people deserve the government they get, it's not always the case.  There is more than a little evidence that, like Seattle, New Orleans democrats stole state election after state election,  using a rock solid, decades old, fraud machine. It may have been swept, irrevocably, to sea.
Senator Mary Landrieu - She may have endeared herself to the Moveon rock heads, by saying she would punch President Bush in the nose, but to the rest of Louisiana voters she is just another embarrassment.  Her whiny demand that taxpayers fund 100% of Louisiana's flood damage, in a state where previous government monies were spent like African warlords at a Neiman Marcus fire sale,  will follow her around.

Rep. William Jefferson - Ask for my special tip on how to remember his name.  At the height of the New Orleans's media produced hysteria, Congressman Jefferson "used National Guard troops to check on his property, and rescue his personal belongings — even while New Orleans residents were trying to get rescued from rooftops."  But wait, there's more.  The Feds, who evidently are close to indicting Willy for graft, bribe taking, and general criminality, are concerned that he was removing evidence.

Even with all this, Jefferson would prolly be easily reelected to a ninth term, except  his district may be turned into a wetlands park.  Bwaaaaa.

The Media - Every story they focused on during Katrina later proved to be false, a calculated lie, inaccurate, or self-serving. MSM would actually be the biggest Katrina loser, except, being the media, they control this story that will not be dissected with anywhere near the same exactitude as, say, whether the Bush Administration  used commentator Armstrong Williams to promote its agenda.

But, we know.

"I did not vote for Obama but he is remarkable. In less than three weeks in office he has collected more than $150,000 in back taxes."

Roger this is a excellent post. What a great job in putting all the 'evidence' together. It's a keeper. Thanks. what a bunch of hell-hole loosers. Talk about having the filk exposed by a hurricane!!!! Sluge Ug-lyness!

Among your winners have got to be illegal Mexican immigrants who are the only ones in New Orleans willing to accept being paid $14-$16 an hour to clean up the place so the whining looters can come back.
