It's hard to grow a good hate for Chucky Schumer, because he's so transparently a self promoting clown.  Schumer is .. I know, Schumer is the Senate's Ted Baxter. A big goofy bastard who's only real asset is the ablity to find television cameras to broadcast his inanities.  Still, it's hard not to grind your teeth when he's dispensing Schumer Punk.  Kind of like Lou did with Ted's.

I just now saw that on the news.  There is no end to smart-assed replies that statement calls for, so have at it.  I, instead, will settle some other things once and for all.

What if Bush dumps our reserves  -- a  year's supply of oil  -- on the domestic market today?  Will the highways be clogged with gasoline tankers rushing to fill Joe's Corner Exxon's tanks?  No.  And why is that?  Because the problem is not a shortage of  oil, it's a shortage of refineries to convert the oil to usable energy.  Why do we have a shortage of refineries?  Because environmentalists of the wacky kind (there are good environmentalists), and the goofy lawmakers they elect  have stopped construction of new refineries for the past 30 years.  The Spotted Owl and purple-twatted musk roach deal, you know.  And,  why do we need so much oil to begin with?  Because we, the most productive nation on earth, can't fully utilize coal and nuclear energy as fuel sources.  So, here's the big question.

Who Can We Blame For High Energy Costs?
