" I don't think I've ever met a Liberal whom I didn't like on a personal basis. That said, if your goal is to change minds and influence people, it's probably not a good idea to begin by asserting that virtually all elected Democrats are liars. But what the hell."

XM Fun

Jimmy and Looloo gave me this XM radio for Christmas (with a year's paid prescription), but we couldn't get it to work, which was a mystery because the XM satellite is in the same spot (South) as our Direst TV satellite (also South), but nada.  So they took it home, plugged it in and it worked.  Anyway, I was wondering WTF I was going to do with satellite radio, what with computer radio if I want it, and I don't drive that much, but .. it is a gadget, and I love gadgets.  Yesterday Looloo brought it back and we plugged it in.  Guess what?  Like the Panini grill that I originally thought was useless crap? ... well, I am loving this MF'er too.  Yeah yeah yeah, it has a zillion music channels, but so does my cable TV .. right?  Not the same. For instance ...   They have 40's, 50's, etc. music channels all the way through the 90's.  Unlike the nostalgia channels on Cable TV, these XM guys are like actually listening to the radio in that era.  I mean, they don't just focus on the chart toppers, but play everything ... and they;re hosted by a guy what knows a lot about the era, so it's interesting.  I went to bed listening to Jack Benny's April 21, 1948 radio broadcast on the Old Timey channel.  Anyway, I'm not selling or owning stock in this deal, but I like it  s'why I'm telling you..  The little XM receiver pops out of the optional Boom box, and will also play anywhere over FM channels, like in your car.  One thing I don't understand though  ... on some channels (like the comedy channel) there are fricking commercials!   What's with that?

Let us know if you figure out why it didn't work the
first time. I'm seriously considering getting the XM
MyFi package. BTW they also allow a freebie trial
period on your computer for those thinking about
getting it.

As to why it didn't work, my only guess is that it was Christmas Eve and I ... uh, had consumed enough toddy that thought I was the King of France. Maybe it don't understand French?
