   The Issaquah, WA, school board banned further use of Issaquah High School's Indian mascot because it reinforced "racial stereotypes," reports the local paper. Then the region's American Indian tribe protested:

''The Snoqualmie Tribe ... would like to support the township and students in saying that it should be left the `Issaquah Indians'''

    In a recent survey of about 350 native Americans by Sports Illustrated, 83 percent wanted teams to retain Indian names and mascots.  Then who is creating the national stink over this issue?  The same common scolds, public shrews and terminally aggrieved who plague us at every turn because we eat meat, wear fur, use perfume, eat peanuts or have fun.  A pox on all their houses.
