Suicidal glory is the luxury of the irresponsible.
We're not giving up. We're waiting for a better opportunity to win.

" I don't think I've ever met a Liberal whom I didn't like on a personal basis. That said, if your goal is to change minds and influence people, it's probably not a good idea to begin by asserting that virtually all elected Democrats are liars. But what the hell."

Be Prepared
There are few things that will  trigger a democrat politician's saliva glands quicker than  news of U.S. military defeat, or the buttocks of  a young page, but this will .... untaxed success.

"I did not vote for Obama but he is remarkable. In less than three weeks in office he has collected more than $150,000 in back taxes."
Gayle Miller
Rodger, if you think that has them excited, just wait about twenty years. Right now, everyone under the age of 40 who's not an idiot knows that Social(ist) Security is a vote-buying scheme and won't pay shit when we retire. In other words, it's a scam and we're all saving as much as we can in 401k programs and IRAs to fund our own retirement. So fast forward twenty years when there are literally billions of dollars sitting in private retirement accounts. I Guaran-damn-tee you that a mob of Democrats will say "it's just not fair that some people retire to lives of luxury while some (mainly Democrat voters) must go without or live in poverty. So therefore, we are proposing a one-time, 10% tax on the assets of all 401k accounts."
I mean, it all sounds so reasonable. Especially if they add something like "...over $500,000. We're just taxing those people with half a million dollars to pay for medical care for crippled children..."

Private retirement accounts scare the hell out of Democrats because it makes the individual less dependant on government. Of course, they could raise the retirement age to 80 or 90 but what they really want is the money to give to their likely voters. So they'll simply steal the money. I'm sure of this.

So I, the fool, continue to do without to sock away a BIG chunk of my salary, both before and after-tax, every month so that I can retire in comfort. My neighbors take vacations to foreign lands I can't even fucking pronounce, while they buy ski boats and drive convertibles and their kids run around with all sorts of electrical crap & cell phones glued to their heads. They're up to their ears in debt and probably have a negative net worth. Guess which one of us will be whining that "it's just not fair" come retirement? Which party will demand a "sheltered wealth" tax?

Or maybe I'm just a paranoid nut. -- Jon

You are no paranoid nut, but a visionary.
