" I don't think I've ever met a Liberal whom I didn't like on a personal basis. That said, if your goal is to change minds and influence people, it's probably not a good idea to begin by asserting that virtually all elected Democrats are liars. But what the hell."

Makes you want to find your X-ACTO knife, don't it?

"I did not vote for Obama but he is remarkable. In less than three weeks in office he has collected more than $150,000 in back taxes."

I wonder if they shoot at each other on the pond?

Seeing that does make you want to build something, but then when you embark on such a project unknowing, it can be disheartening to discover how much work and skill are required. I stand in awe of people who can muster the skill and drive to scratchbuild something like that model. One of the most impressive such works I've seen is the 1/72 scale model of the CVN Enterprise in the Air and Space Museum. It's about 15' long with the full complement of aircraft on board.

That is one of the most awesome links I've seen in a while. What talent and tenacity to succeed with such projects!

Seeing the ship on the lake made me thinks of another type of ship
I recently learned of. There is a B-29 bomber at the bottom of Lake Mead. And a recent program I saw cleared the mystery of why it was there. Very interesting...and funny. I hope you never take the same trip in your B-52, :) joyce

The Scharnhorst? Whatever, it's magnificent.

It's either the Scharnhorst or the Gneisenau. I like the link that shows the Graf Spee model that's around 20+ feet long and being driven around a lake by the builder.

There's a club up in Connectticut that does radio controlled submarines. Some of them were 4-5 feet long and would submerge and fire torpedoes. Best one had a crew that would come through hatches on the conning tower when the bost came to the surface.

I figured it for the Bismark or Tirpitz (why go half-measures?)... haven't looked at the link yet though.
