This is Iraq. It's unlike any other place in the world. LOL

I woke to hear a news blurb about suspected voting irregularities in Iraq's constitution referendum. "In some areas there was a higher turnout than there are voters." Another guy says, "This is Iraq. It's unlike any other place in the world."

LOL, my very first thought was "Philadelphia." In that vein, I Googled for an appropriate picture, and stumbled on this. Holy crap, the perfect Philly picture; union thug whacks Republican voter with a bat. When I clicked the thumbnail, though, it was Bruce Springsteen.. Sigh.

I liked REM's "Automatic for the People" and "Monster" (some of most introspective lyrics I've ever heard) and Springsteen's "Nebraska"...BUT...as people...I *hate* both Michael Stipe and Bruce Springsteen with a passion.

'Course, both of those albums were released way before they became official mouthpieces for the Democratic Party.

Yannow....back when bands mostly just sang and played for their audiences rather than boring them to fucking tears with political rants.
