Suicidal glory is the luxury of the irresponsible.
We're not giving up. We're waiting for a better opportunity to win.

" I don't think I've ever met a Liberal whom I didn't like on a personal basis. That said, if your goal is to change minds and influence people, it's probably not a good idea to begin by asserting that virtually all elected Democrats are liars. But what the hell."

Light My Ire
There's another old adage in ... something, from the Orient, and that is, "Journalist who write with her legs in air, bound to have crack up."   That would be the Chicago Sun Times Washington Bureau Chief, Lynn Sweet. Hey Lynn, what with all the stink about the MSM's tilt to the left, you're supposed to try to pretend that you're not a DNC whore. Check out today's "Gitmo remark makes Durbin easy prey"

"Six months ago, Senate Democrats picked Durbin (D-Ill.) to be their No. 2 leader because he is one of the most articulate and informed senators on his side of the aisle.

"But Durbin lapsed this week and his punishment included providing fuel for the mighty right-wing political machine. That includes Rush Limbaugh and talk show hosts at Fox News, where bashing Durbin was the singular theme of Friday's "Fox & Friends" morning cablecast."

NEWS?

See what I'm saying? If the reader can glean from your news reporting what your politics are, you're a bad reporter. And, it would pay Sweet to stick with The Five W's of News Reporting without adding a sixth .. "Whazzup?" Sweet has a bad record when she gets into prognostication, as this January 15, 1998 blab on the eve of Clinton's Paula Jones deposition demonstrates.Reporter Lynn Sweet
"He has had so many bad days and then the President bounces back. He's at sixty-something percent in approval ratings. And unless there's some bombshell that leaks out of this thing, it won't. You know and I don't see how this is going to have any bigger effect on the bigger picture here.... It's a bad day. And no President has had to sit for a sworn deposition like this before but, you know, look at what this guy has weathered so far."
Sweet once opined " Washington is a very stratified journalistic society, and a reporter's position depends upon the prestige of the media outlet that employs the reporter." May I add that the media outlet employer is also judged by the quality of reportage? Of course it's too late for Sweet to change; an old whore has no other trade, but the Sun Times can fire her, for Pete's sake. Can you say CBS?

"I did not vote for Obama but he is remarkable. In less than three weeks in office he has collected more than $150,000 in back taxes."
