Suicidal glory is the luxury of the irresponsible.
We're not giving up. We're waiting for a better opportunity to win.

" I don't think I've ever met a Liberal whom I didn't like on a personal basis. That said, if your goal is to change minds and influence people, it's probably not a good idea to begin by asserting that virtually all elected Democrats are liars. But what the hell."

Real Histry
Back when I was with the OSS Counter-Intel, my spy tracking led me to Edward R. Murrow, the CBS war reporter stationed in London.  It seems the Russians caught Murrow having an affair with a goat on some roof-top, or something, and blackmailed him.  Murrow was from that point on a Russian spy, but nobody cared because Roosevelt liked Russian spies.  Anyway, Murrow's instructions were to return home and get rid of all anti-Stalinists at CBS, and recruit and train ratbastard commies to work there.  His protégé, Walter "Red" Cronkite (real name - Fyodor Gruntsky) picked up the ball after  the CIA "offed" Murrow in 1965  (to prevent him from surrendering the government to Ho Chi Minh.  He thought he could.).  Anyway, the place is still filled with commies, as  Elizabeth Kaledin attests to in this on-air report (MP3) about why the federal government needs to be in charge of medical research.
"Elizabeth Kaledin: "But the problem with private funding is that if a private company makes a big breakthrough -- guess what? -- they own that breakthrough and they can do with it what they like. They can charge the public whatever amount of money they want for those health benefits. It's much better to have these breakthroughs in the public domain, and then the government can assure that all Americans will have access to them."

"I did not vote for Obama but he is remarkable. In less than three weeks in office he has collected more than $150,000 in back taxes."

You can bet if I found a cure for aids, I wouldn't be giving it away for $10.

"It's much better to have these breakthroughs in the public domain"

Government funded research does not result in breakthroughs. They only prove what doesn't work. Looks at the results of hundreds of billions of dollars of government AIDS research-zippo.

Elizabeth Kaledin is too ignorant to realize that frequently, finding a way to produce the drug is harder than discovering the drug.
