Suicidal glory is the luxury of the irresponsible.
We're not giving up. We're waiting for a better opportunity to win.

" I don't think I've ever met a Liberal whom I didn't like on a personal basis. That said, if your goal is to change minds and influence people, it's probably not a good idea to begin by asserting that virtually all elected Democrats are liars. But what the hell."

Fun Howard
The law and order *snort* party, as represented by Nancy Pelosi, weighed in on the latest antics  of  hate speechist Howie Dean [ "Democrat leaders discount comments by Dean on GOP "]
"I do not agree with the statement that was made'' (the one characterizing  the GOP as a "white Christian party'," and providing the last piece of  evidence required to portray the Deaniacs as modern day "Brown Shirts.")
Of course, we all know what that means.  After it was finally proved to Clinton apologists that he had indeed perjured himself before a jury, and had indeed "had sex with that girl Monica Lewinsky," they  promptly exclaimed  that it would be "ridiculous" and "unthinkable for him to resign"  in the face of impeachment.   Which was what she just said about Howie.
"Wouldn't they just love that?'' she said of the Republicans. "Howard Dean is doing a great job ... he energizes the grassroots.'' She characterized Dean's comment as overenthusiasm, saying "he just tells it the way he sees it . .. but that's what part of his appeal is.''
In finally acknowledging that his boss had lied about the the 1992 campaign plan to balance the budget , George  Stephanopoulos deadpanned that it was necessary, because the stakes were so high.  Later, President Clinton was taped telling a room full of donors that he had to cheat, and violate federal campaign finance laws else "the Republicans would have outspent us."

All this serves to accentuate the Democrat's sense of entitlement, and arrogance.  It's kind of their version of "we have to burn the village in order to save it."  From Republicans.  It's also a phenomenon that democrats, like the Stalinists before them, regularly charge opponents with doing whatever it is they are up to at the moment, as though we are actually as dull witted as they think we are, and won't catch on.  Which sort of explains all the recent "Bush is Hitler" rhetoric. And, doesn't it also demonstrate an equally serious problem that will work against any "coming together?"  As evidenced by Pelosi's "Wouldn't they just love that?'," we see that democrats would rather live with an evil than admit an error in judgment.  Add hubris to their sins, and pass the bacon.
