Suicidal glory is the luxury of the irresponsible.
We're not giving up. We're waiting for a better opportunity to win.

" I don't think I've ever met a Liberal whom I didn't like on a personal basis. That said, if your goal is to change minds and influence people, it's probably not a good idea to begin by asserting that virtually all elected Democrats are liars. But what the hell."

Mea Yalta, Mea Maxima Yalta
Liberals, it seems, are forever wanting the United States to apologize to someone, but I'm guessing there won't be any dinner parties on the Upper East Side celebrating this mea culpa.
"Speaking in Latvia on May 7, Bush repudiated "the agreement at Yalta" by which powerful governments negotiated away the freedom of small nations.... It was at Yalta, a filthy Russian port on the Black Sea, where our dying President in February 1945 made a secret agreement with Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin to surrender millions of people to Communist oppression behind what Churchill a year later labeled the Iron Curtain. No treaty was submitted to the U.S. Senate; indeed, the record of what went on at Yalta was not released until ten years later." - "Bush Buries The Shame Of Yalta
It was at Yalta that FDR:
  • Turned Poland over to the Soviet Union.
  • Agreed that all Russian citizens who had fled to Germany from Communism were to be forcibly returned to the Soviet Union. Guess what happened to them?

  • Agreed to allow the Soviet Union to keep control of Outer Mongolia, which the Soviets had seized from China. The southern part of Sakhalin and all the adjacent islands were given outright to the Soviets.

  • Ceded the Kurile Islands outright to the Soviets, and Port Arthur was given to the Soviets for use as a naval base. The Soviets were given effective control of the commercial port of Dairen, the Chinese-Eastern Railroad and the South-Manchurian Railroad, using the subterfuge of assuring that the Soviet Union's "preeminent" interests would be "safeguarded."

  • Gave the Soviet Union three votes in the United Nations, while all other nations got only one.
While it's true that Roosevelt was seriously ill at the time, the fact remains that despite being told that Alger Hiss was a Soviet agent, he was kept on as a principle advisor while FDR sealed the fate of millions. As a judge of character, FDR stank. It was he who coined the sobriquet "Uncle Joe" for, arguably, the worst mass murderer of all time. I wonder if liberals will push congress to pay reparations in this matter? Whoops, I'm sorry ... we did. The cost of 50 years of cold war.

"I did not vote for Obama but he is remarkable. In less than three weeks in office he has collected more than $150,000 in back taxes."
